Max Verstappen insisted 'shit happens' after the triple world champion suffered his first retirement from a race in two years at the Australian Grand Prix. It wasn’t the brake that exploded on pit entry for Verstappen, it was the tire violently decompressing due to the heat of the nearby brake fire. Anyway; zero points; shit happens!

Due to the amazing suction from the ground-effect of a Formula 1 car, loose drain covers are flying projectiles. Mainly on street circuits such as Monaco, Baku, and Las Vegas but recently also in the pit lane during free practice of Saoedi Arabië last February. Pretty dangerous but a great subject to make this scenery.

And right after the start within moments the Zandvoort track was soaking wet. Max had to stay out for one more lap before he could pit for intermediates. Slippery conditions but he managed it [in his RB19]. What a race! Looking forward to the Dutch GP in 2024!
